HEC Montréal Chair in Organizational Ethics and AI Governance

In collaboration with the research chair directed by Joé T. Martineau (HEC Montréal) and co-funded by Confiance IA, the Confiance IA consortium places ethics at the heart of corporate AI governance.

This chair – one of the first to focus on organizational and corporate AI governance, extending beyond public policy – supports organizations by combining theoretical and applied research.

It notably enables :

  • Integration of ethics into organizational management, providing decision makers with tools to design AI solutions that are useful, usable, and effectively implemented.
  • Reinforcement of ethical and responsible AI governance, through improved interoperability, risk management, and industrial deployment.
  • Development of ethical competencies among stakeholders, supported by a pedagogical and ethnographic methodology (including project‑committee observations, teaching cases, research articles) that fosters a shared vocabulary across technical, business, and ethics functions.

This partnership establishes a multidisciplinary approach to trustworthy AI within Confiance IA, closely
aligned with the concrete projects of its member companies.
